Temporary review category for scripts whose correct category has not yet been determined. It should not be treated as a final classification.

Temporary submission category used when the uploader cannot find an appropriate existing category. Before approval, an administrator should assign an existing category or create a suitable new category. It should not normally remain on a published script.

Music specifically intended for the entrance or opening procession of the Mass, gathering the congregation and beginning the celebration.

Settings of the Kyrie or other forms of the Mass petition “Lord, have mercy / Christ, have mercy,” including Kyrie eleison and Christe eleison.

Settings of the Gloria or “Glory to God in the highest” text used in the Mass.

Psalm settings specifically structured or identified for use as the Responsorial Psalm in the Liturgy of the Word, normally involving a recurring response and verses.

Music intended to accompany the acclamation before the Gospel, including Alleluia settings and appropriate Lenten Gospel acclamations.

Settings of the Creed or Profession of Faith, including the Nicene Creed and other approved Credo texts used during Mass.

Music specifically intended for the Universal Prayer or Prayer of the Faithful, normally providing a sung response to petitions or intercessions.

Songs centred on offering oneself, one's praise, thanksgiving, service or possessions to God. This category generally expresses the act or spirit of giving rather than specifically presenting bread, wine or gifts at the altar.

Songs whose text explicitly focuses on the altar, sacrifice, bread and wine, or the presentation and acceptance of Eucharistic gifts. In ChoirScript classification, these textual elements distinguish it from more general Offertory songs.

Settings of the Sanctus: “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of hosts,” including equivalent translations used during the Eucharistic Prayer.

Musical settings of the Lord's Prayer, “Our Father,” used during the Communion Rite of the Mass.

Settings of the Agnus Dei or “Lamb of God” litany used during the breaking of bread before Communion.

Music specifically associated with receiving the Eucharist, particularly texts concerning the Body and Blood of Christ, spiritual nourishment, Eucharistic union or coming to the table of the Lord.

Music specifically intended for the conclusion of Mass or the departure of the ministers and congregation, often expressing thanksgiving, mission, sending forth or joyful departure.

Music specifically suitable for or associated with the liturgical season of Ordinary Time when no more specific Mass part or seasonal category defines the work. It should not be used simply as a catch-all for general Christian music.

Music centred on waiting, preparation and expectation for the coming of Christ, including themes of prophecy, the Messiah and preparation for Christmas.

Music centred on the Nativity, the birth of Jesus Christ, the Incarnation and the celebration of the Christmas season.

Music specifically associated with the Lenten season, including themes of repentance, conversion, fasting, mercy, the Cross and preparation for the Passion and Easter.

Music centred on the Resurrection of Christ, the Paschal mystery and the joy and victory associated with the Easter season.

Music specifically associated with Pentecost, particularly the coming of the Holy Spirit, His gifts, renewal and the mission of the Church.

Choral works belonging to or strongly reflecting the Western classical or art-music tradition, including motets, anthems and other established classical choral repertoire. Do not use this category merely because a piece is SATB, old, difficult or written in Latin.

Choral works intended or particularly suited for concerts, competitions, festivals, recitals and other performance settings rather than a specific liturgical function.

Music specifically centred on the Blessed Virgin Mary, including prayers, hymns, praise and devotional texts addressed to or concerning Mary.

Hymns and devotional songs centred directly on Jesus Christ or the Lord, especially congregational or hymn-like works of praise, trust, love and devotion that do not have a more specific Mass, seasonal or devotional function.

Music specifically associated with Christian marriage, including texts concerning love, covenant, fidelity, the blessing of a couple or the celebration of Matrimony.

Music specifically associated with Christian funerals, mourning, eternal life, resurrection hope, remembrance or the commendation of the deceased.

Music intended for prayer and worship before the Blessed Sacrament outside the celebration of Mass, particularly texts centred on adoring Christ present in the Eucharist.

Music specifically associated with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament and the rites surrounding the Eucharistic blessing, rather than Eucharistic devotion in general.

Music originating from, associated with or clearly identified as part of the Taizé tradition and repertoire. Repetition or simplicity alone is not sufficient to classify a work as Taizé.

Songs whose subject or purpose is not Christian liturgy or worship, including secular, cultural, folk, patriotic, romantic, social or other non-liturgical repertoire.

Christian sacred choral music centred on Scripture, prayer, praise, biblical narratives or other religious themes that is not better classified under a specific Mass part, liturgical season, occasion or devotional category.

The phrase "Uwa Bu Olili" translates from the Igbo language to mean "The world is a marketplace". It is a profoundly moving, philosophical Igbo choral requiem used primarily during Christian funerals and memorial services.
